The Archive supports http 1.1 for almost all downloads (and all book downloads), so it should work with resume. What platform are you having this issue with?

It's strange. I use XP with Firefox and Download Accelerator Plus, but the direct link from the Archive web page doesn't work right-- when the server gets queried a file size 'unknown' comes back as well as 'resume not supported.' And the multi-file 'accelerated' split that DAP uses is not supported, either.

Yet, if you paste and add the specific download URL into DAP manually, it works great. So there is a workaround of sorts to make it happen, but it's wierd that the downloads would easily link from the old Live Book Search site but not the main Archive one.

I've never had a problem continuing a download from archive.org or accelerating downloads from archive.org. In order to properly address your problem with your software, it would help to see what the HTTP headers were and what the software said in response. It sounds like your software is misparsing headers (hence the unknown file length) and possibly not issuing the correct command to continue a download.

With wget and curl it's pretty easy to get headers.

I just realized netscape navigator is on this laptop but it's all weird and the font was different and I was not logged on so I quickly deleted it. It was traumatic.
